Die micrographs and GDSII viewer

Open the atlas or the catalog.

The visual collection contains actual die photographs, including source-identified partial microscope views. Full-die and detail images keep their source captions, credits and licenses. Source-supported annotations remain attached to the photograph.

Circuit diagrams, conceptual graphs, pad-coordinate plots, package and assembly photographs, presentation slides, and traced-layer reconstructions are excluded from publication. Records without an approved die photo remain searchable references.

The GDSII viewer reads a local file supplied by the reader. No industry mask files are bundled, and a user-supplied layout is not automatically associated with a catalog chip.

Build and validate

Run python3 05_Chip_Visualizations/build_atlas.py from the repository root. The default build applies data/physical_visual_review.json. Every allowed image is keyed by its chip ID and exact source URL; unreviewed new images are excluded.

Run python3 05_Chip_Visualizations/tests/check_physical_only.py, then rebuild documents and the website. The site builder rejects a research dataset or a non-micrograph image and omits all retired drawing and extracted-layout assets.

Historical source transcriptions remain in the private repository. build_atlas.py --research produces the research dataset for source-regression tests only. Rebuild without that flag before publication.
